Mariah is back with the brand new single, Obsessed off her upcoming Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel album. Obsessed sees Mariah rebutting Eminem's recent rapping attacks at the diva and her husband.
First came the emancipation, then came energy and power, and now come Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, the 12th studio album by international superstar Mariah Carey. Island Def Jam mogul Anotnio "L.A." Reid is credited as executive producer, while Stewart and The-Dream produced the majority of the tracks. The album follows 2008’s E=MC2, which sold 1,300,000 copies and spawned Carey’s 18th No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100, Touch My Body.

Can this lady do no wrong this cd is Mariah at her very best.Obessed is an up beat song one to get you up and dancing with Mariah's great vocals. A lot of slower songs on this cd but just close your eyes and listen to this lady's amazing voice she will capture you and wrap you up in her amazing vocals. With songs like The Impossible,Inseparable, Angels Cry this song captured me and just blew me away just amazing. Mariah's version of I Want To Know What Love Is wow is the word I describe after listening to this song. Mariah's remix of Obsessed is just fantastic. If you are not already into her music take the time to listen to this cd, I have no doubt you will enjoy it.
It's just not the same as back in the 90s

It’s only been a year since E=MC2 was released but Mariah Carey is back with her newest album ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’. The prologue opens up expectations of a fantastic album but somewhere along the way Mariah unfortunately fails to meet them all. Yes this album displays her great talent as a singer and somewhat songwriter but there’s some magic missing. The lyrics and vocals struggle to grab and keep your attention. Production on this album is great with some fresh beats from some of the best in the business reminiscent of earlier RnB to keep you bopping and swaying along to a mellower tune. Her vocal prowess is known to all since she first appeared on the scene but sadly it seems that over time it’s lost its edge with Mariah resorting to singing in a toned whisper more often than not. Her first single ‘Obsessed’ is certainly a cracker and there is no need for the remixes but a welcome bonus. Glimpses of greatness appear throughout the album but her rendition of ‘I Want to Know What Love Is’ is classic Mariah Carey in all her glory. Other stand out tracks includes ‘H.A.T.E.U.’, ‘Angels Cry’ and ‘Up Out of My Face’. It’s a good easy to listen to album, although it won’t be the one to put Mariah back at the top of all the charts it is definitely one for any fan of her recent or earlier work.
Mariah's latest album is a collection of slower, urban-sounding songs which showcase her vocal ability (once again) and vunerability.
Her honest and emotional lyrics express her feelings of past and present love, and this cd is ideal to play if you're after something to listen to whilst relaxing or chilling out.
I must add that I do personally prefer Mariah's earlier pop releases such as "Emotions" and "Someday" but this beautifully packaged cd won't disappoint fans.
The highlight of "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" is the 4 bonus dance remixes of "Obsessed"
