Universal Music Australia Announces First Yellow Lounge

Universal Music Australia is set to launch the very first Yellow Lounge in Australia on September 19 at The Loft in Sydney
Established seven years ago in the Berlin club scene, Yellow Lounge is unique in the sense that it showcases classical local and international artists in urban spaces. The concept has been successfully launched in cities across the globe including London, Amsterdam, Vienna, Seoul and New York.
The Yellow Lounge concept is one that brings classical music into a modern day environment, welcoming younger audiences and introducing them to music they may have not otherwise explored.
Max Hole, Chief Operating Officer of Universal Music Group International says “Our goal with Yellow Lounge is to extend the reach of classical music to draw in audiences of all ages who are curious about the music but deterred by some of its long-standing conventions.”
Sydney will be the host of the first Australian Yellow Lounge, which will be held at The Loft on Wednesday, September 19. The evening will feature critically acclaimed Harlem tenor, Noah Stewart and Australia’s very own, Rachael Leahcar following on from her amazing success on The Voice and debut album which entered the ARIA charts at #5. This unique pairing has also resulted in recording a duet together which will also feature on Noah’s album.
Closing the night will be female DJ duo The Faders. The talented pair (Milly Gattegno and Suhana Lye) were recently signed to Universal Music Australia, with their debut mix album ‘F.U.N’ out September 28.
Australia’s arts and entertainment channel STUDIO have partnered with Yellow Lounge to record an exclusive interview with Noah Stewart. This will be broadcast alongside the inspiring full-length documentary about Noah, titled Noah Stewart: The Harlem Tenor at 8.00pm 23 September on channel 132, exclusive to Foxtel.
